The Third Trimester

Waiting. Building momentum. Final Preparations. Tick tock. Tick tock.

The suspense! What will be will be. Tick tock. Tick tock.

Over to the left, no, over to the right. There, right there! Let me mark it for you, X marks the spot.

That’s right. Your direction is clear, even instinctual. Now is not the time to hold your breath. No. Breathe. In, out. In, out. Breathe.

The contractions are closing in. Now, now. It won’t be long now, the levy will break. The tide will rise. Your path is set. Prepare the linens, I see the crown! I know it hurts, the pressure you feel. The expansion you must endure to bring forward this new life. Push! Now, push! There is no time to rest, no, not yet.

Push! The head is out! Breathe. This next part, the shoulders, this is it. This is the hardest part. Yes, yes, you can do it. Look how far you’ve come, so far from where you started. It’s time love. It’s time.

Gather your strength. Give it all you’ve got! Push! Push! Push! There now. There, there. She’s beautiful isn’t she. You did that! You. Beautiful, amazing you. Care for her, love her. Protect her. Value her. You will see this reciprocated in right time as it should be.

The pleasure, the pain, the pleasure. ‘Round and ’round it goes. Discomfort is always a driving force that urges us forward. Move those feet! Take the wheel! Get to it! You are more than capable, you have proven this time and time again haven’t you. Yes, you have.

Look. Listen. Feel. Follow those little, subtle hints as they appear before you. Those synchronicities are there for you. Those are the confirmations that you are on the right track.

Take it all, the ups, the downs. The ins, the outs. It all has it’s place. It all has it’s place.

Channeled message from Margaret Pilgrim, my husbands grandmother. I call this one the earth metaphor.
