A long title, I know. Who better to represent you than you. Do you not know you best?
Perplexed? Why? Do you not feel that you know yourself down to your core? How could this be. Why this divide. Might you know your best friend, sister or brother better than yourself. Is your love for them greater than your own?
Tsk, tsk, and not the shameful tsk, tsk either. This is the stop right there this very instant and recognize your oversight. This is fixable, an easy repair, no need to repremand.
It is true, to know thy self is to love thy self. You are a child of God. You are a child of the Universe. You are creation itself.
Stop. Wherever you are in this journey called life and recognize how far you have come. Give yourself some credit, rise and be accounted for. You do not need to buy into this love for yourself. Love is not material. Love is the expression, the sentiment behind the words, feelings or action.
Self love is self care. The walk outside, the good meal, the bathing in salt. The time spent writing down your thoughts and dreams. Take notice of these desires, give into them until it feels natural to have a relationship with yourself.
When the “well maybe”, or “what if” questions arise take it seriously and say “why not”. You are truly capable of creating the life you desire.
Have you been stifled by the “Don’t get too big for your britches.” antidote? The, “Who do you think you are?”. Do not shy away from your true potential to please others. Those that wish to keep you small have adopted this rhetoric as their own. Let them have it, it is theirs alone.
Today is a good day as any to start. Put yourself on that pedastool. Recognize your brilliance, your tenacity. Step into your light, your creativity, your joy. Put yourself forward, claim your birthright.
Love for yourself is the union of your spirit with your soul. This union is what you have been created for. This union is pure love, pure light and your connection to the divine.
