Grape-Nut Pudding

You keep asking for it, everywhere you go. Every time, the answer is no. Waiting, searching, still a no. No, we don’t have any Grape-Nut Pudding.

You build it up so much in your mind. Boy, won’t it be great when I do find it! I know this pudding will be so good, yum, I can’t wait. It almost becomes a game of chance, a lottery ticket to scratch off…

Then, one day, someone you love makes this infamous Grape-Nut Pudding for you at home. It’s warm, the whipped cream is cool and creamy.

It’s not the same. It doesn’t taste as good as I remember. I pretend to love it but I don’t. It’s OK, don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the gesture. I really do, I do.

I guess sometimes we just get so wrapped up in the wanting, the anticipation that we build up. It isn’t about the pudding, the this or that. It’s the experience, the seeking, the adventure.

I misplaced my attention though, I did. I focused on what I didn’t have, I did. I just did.

I had the dessert table right in front of me everyday. A smorgasbord of all sorts of treats and delights. I couldn’t see it though, not really.

It’s OK to want, to seek, even to crave what you’re missing, it is.

Here’s the thing though, the big thing, the gold nuggets in life…

Love and appreciate what you already have. Love and appreciate the people in your life. Tell them, show them. Love them without excuse, without ridicule. Love them where they are and for who they are without comparison.

Channeled message from my mother-in-law Rose. Here is the rest of our conversation… It sounds like you have some regrets Rose. Rose answers; “Oh, I do. I couldn’t see what I see now.” I respond; We all make mistakes. We love you and miss you. She says; “I miss you all so, so, so much but you know what. I’m happy. I really am. It’s so nice to be back where I belong. Thank you for the pudding, I love you.”
