Forgiveness

The path to forgiveness for some is easy. For some it is a perilous journey filled with twists and turns; jagged edges. Thick, sharp thorns.

Some wounds of the heart land deep. Take up residence. These wounds become part of ones identity. They become an odd attachment that weighs heavy, gives a false sense of protection.

Stagnant pools of stale energy remain firmly entrenched when fed regularly. Holding on to the injustices, the unfairnesses, the familiar is the food of self loathing, hatred and remorse.

Why continue with this torture? Forgiveness is for you my friend. Forgiveness does not excuse or negate the happening. Forgiveness does not remove this lesson of acceptance, this lesson of opportunity. Forgiveness frees your winding path, softens the edges and removes the thorns.
