Enlightenment

Enlightenment feels like coming out of the cool, dark shadows at just the right time to find the sun setting on your face. It’s warm, comforting, soothing. You just want to close your eyes and breathe it in.

Winter is over and spring is in the air. The baby bunnies in their nests, the birds frolicking about, the buds building on the trees.

What is this fear of this word, this terminology? Why would you feel undeserving or unworthy? Is this from the learned rhetoric of only the saint’s and deities are to be enlightened? Then there’s the other end of that spectrum, the “lit”, the hippies, the spiritual seekers.

As is usually true, truth lies interwoven through the whole gambit. To enlighten, to shed light on, awareness. This is a knowing that there is more than meets the eye. This is a recognition of the synchronistic symphony that encases your mere existence. The, I am not alone in the universe.

To recognize and begin to understand that it is the we, not the I is to begin to see, to illuminate. To be enlightened through a simple conversation is the “Oh, I see what you mean.” You already have the enlightened understanding of the seasons. All are connected, one leads to the next, or even the cycles of the moon.

Take the knee jerk reactions and preconceived notions out of play. Don’t allow those limitations to hinder you. Your experiences are not the experiences of another. This is your life, your journey.

Be open to new ideas, new concepts. Learn, grow, evolve. Look inside, outside. Find joy again. Discover what is uniquely yours. What sets you apart while also connecting you to others?

Step out of the shade. Step out of the shadows.
