It is often the case that one simply sees what is right in front of them. They believe what they have been taught to believe. It feels safe, comfortable, easy.
“Don’t rock the boat. Don’t question our truth for our way is right.”
Maybe so. Maybe not so.
There is a difference between being intentionally misled and simply doing, teaching what one feels is “right”.
Don’t forget that they once ventured out beyond their known truths to come to their own conclusions that they then passed on to you.
No need to compare “better” or “worse”, “right” or “wrong”. This is about you knowing who you are. “Who am I?”, have you ever asked yourself this question?
It is not what you do for work. It is not your title or your degree.
Explore. Contemplate. Break out of the mundane autopilot mode you have settled into. Start with asking the most basics of questions… Who am I.
If you are “stuck”, if you feel “depleted” then perhaps it is time to alter your course.
Perhaps it is just a shift in perspective, maybe more. I know that it is not “push through it”, “business as usual”. This is the moment, this is where you say, “Enough is enough!”. Shift gears, change it up, alternate your current.
