Upside Down, Alan Watts

‘Inverted inversion. Perverted? No, indeed not. Things are not always as you see them. Ever notice how sometimes we “look” at something but through our distractions we don’t really see what it is we are pretending to look at. The same with “hearing”. Ever ask the question then not listen to the reply? Yes, I know, we all have. Why would we ask if we don’t want to hear? Why do we look when we don’t want to see?

To see is powerful. To hear is powerful. To know is powerful.

Depth. Do not be afraid to go deep. Do not be afraid to know yourself on a deep level. Do not merely float on the surface when you have an entire sea to explore at your disposal.

Look into your own eyes, what do you see? Listen to your own heart, what do you feel? For when you know yourself all else is righted.’

Channeled message from Alan Watts, a British and American writer and philosopher. It has almost been a year since my last message from Alan, it’s called ‘It is that I Am, you should read it. When I mentioned this he said, ‘I do like anniversaries, although I like to refer to them as turn abouts, conscious cyclitudes.’ I told him that I could not find the definition of this word. Alan responded, ‘Ah, you don’t see it, does this mean it is not there? It doesn’t exist? Or, are we limiting ourselves in the mere construct of a word even though you deem this words understanding?’
