People can be simplistic, animalistic even. Lead them with a carrot and they follow. Any other game, any other time, it would have just been a game. An, oh shit, smack, that sucks. But no, not this game.
The real lesson here is that it IS a game. IT IS ALL A GAME. You, you. You either step up and put the I in Team or you don’t. Use your sportsmanship or don’t. Show your love, support and compassion or don’t.
Shut up about it if you can’t be nice. Stay at your level if you choose it but don’t bring others down with you. Ya, just be nice.
It’s like spitting the shells out, the sunflower seeds. What do you leave behind when the game is over. Did you do your best? Did you play by the rules you agreed to?
That’s it in a nutshell. Cute analogy, I know. It’s true though, how do you want to be remembered?
How do you want to be remembered?
Plain and simple. Be nice. Be kind. Give others a leg up when they need it. We are here to build each other up, not the other way around.
Ya, It hurt, not gonna lie, it was tough. Do I forgive those offenders? Yes, I do. I wish them love and peace and the ability to see past their own mind driven ego’s.
Eat the seeds then spit out those shells…
Channeled message from Bill Buckner. Bill, a lefty, played for the Boston Red Sox. In the 1986 World Series game against the New York Mets, Bill, who was also suffering through leg injuries, was part of one of the most memorable plays in baseball history. The curse of the Bambino was alive and well after a baseball slipped behind the legs of Bill Buckner in the tenth-inning, game 6. That’s it folks, this miss kept them from winning the World Series, a series they had not been able to win since 1918 after they traded Babe Ruth. Sox fans gave him hell for 20 years, including death threats to him and his family before they flipped on a dime and forgave him at Fenway Park with a standing ovation. In reality, Bill single handedly losing this game in one play is absurd, ask McNamara about that! Let’s not forget that they still had to play game 7 two days later to decide the win too. So, like Shoeless Joe Jackson, poor Bill was used as a scape goat and Like Joe they both left the game better than they found it.

Don’t forget Bob Stanley’s pass ball to tie the game.
