Learning through Hardship

Baptism by fire. Thrown in the deep end to learn to swim. Left alone at the wheel to steer the ship. Sink or swim. These are the moments that shape who we are. These are pivot points in our lives.

How we respond is entirely our choice. Embrace the difficulty full speed ahead or let the waves crash over. Float on your back until you learn to swim or sink to the bottom. Control the fire or allow it to consume you. All your choice.

What do you have control over? What is manageable? What are you thankful for even if so small you hardly recognize it. Sometimes the challenge isn’t about the what is but of the how’s .

How do you respond to these upsets. Are they personal attacks or opportunities to learn and experience through to growth? Are the insults so vast that there is no resolution?

In times of upset and overwhelm, breathe. Take a moment. Look outside of the matter in front of you. How many obstacles have you already conquered and forgotten about? Those mountains aren’t quite so big when travel bit by bit. Know that you are capable. Know that this will pass. Know that this is a lesson in attitude of gratitude.
