white feather

Cut From the Same Cloth

It’s a gift, a clear jeweled box filled with pink jewels. This gift is offered to me on outstretched hands. Above the wrists, the clothing is torn away. I see the cloth remnant and I hear; we are cut from the same cloth.

My Indian Father, One Who Sees walks with me. I am his warrior son, Wind On Face. His arm is draped around me as I turn into a falcon. My Father who is the Eagle, raises me up to fly. I see a nest containing a single white feather, the feather floats up and away.

I see my Grandfather May, he says; “I Love You Toots.” I see my Great Granny Gooche and my Great Grandfather Frank. He smiles at me with a wink and a nod. My Grandmother May walks to me, embraces me. I cry, I needed that hug!! I’ve seen her before, she’s always in her 30’s and beautiful.

Everyone circles around around me as I fall to my knees. I hear, We Raise You Up. I’m sorry, please forgive me, I love you. I ask to send light and healing to my Aunt and Sister.  I ask them to please watch over my families health and safety.

My Granny Gooche thanks me. My Grandmother Black holds my shoulders, I feel the love flow from her heart to mine. This is what I feel when I hug my daughter. My other Grandparents step in to hug me.

They all unite to form a circle around me. Every generation forms a circle around the one before, it goes on and on just like the rings of a tree. As we step out of the shadows the sun begins to shine on our faces.
